Hey fam, So this
week was definitely one for the books! A ton happened this week, and lots of it
was really, really good.
The greenies got here on Tuesday afternoon, and Elder
Campora and I were asked to come spend some time with them and calm them down
and such. It was really funny to do some "undercover work" with them
all, when none of them knew that Elder Campora and I would be training two of
them. It was pretty great. As always, problems came up with transfers and
scheduling things, and we got to work through those for the first few days of
this week-so that kept us pretty busy. We had a trainers' meeting and picked
up our trainees on Wednesday morning.
I'm serving with Elder Fetzer(pictures to come). He's a
stud. He's stoked to get out and work, which is a HUGE blessing and makes it so
much easier to train him. He's from Murray, Utah, and is into a bunch of the
stuff that I'm into, so we have some good things to talk about.
We've been having a really good time out here, and
working hard! We are white-washing an old sisters apartment way up in
North-Western Warsaw. HAIR EVERYWHERE oh my gosh it's been a nightmare. We've
spent a solid 5 hours just cleaning up some of the "womanly
characteristics"
of our apartment. We actually had to take an entire bag
of tampons and other goodies to the chapel for the sisters-which was pretty
freakin'
awkward but SO funny. We're working from the ground-up
this transfer.
The sisters have given us a few numbers to potentials
they had met, but other than that, we
don't even have an area book to call through.
We're doing a lot of finding and contacting. The great
thing about it is, Elder Fetzer is pretty fearless. Missionaries absolutely
HATE tramwaj and bus contacting, and he's cool with doing it all the time.
We've had some pretty good converstions with people on
trams.
The Lord continues to humble me... I'm the District
Leader here in Warsaw in the biggest district in the mission, and it's all
filled with the ZL's and the AP's and such. The hardest part is I have
literally NO idea what I'm doing. With one exception, it's been like
10 months since I was in a good normal district
meeting... so I don't know what I'm doing. Lol. I had to get everybody's
numbers to put in the system yesterday, and so I did. I put them in, and then
decided that I didn't need the paper anymore, and threw it away, and then the
ZL's called and needed the district's numbers for the week... so I got to call
everybody back AGAIN and get their numbers for the second time that day. I'm
planning district meeting for tomorrow, so everybody start praying for me haha.
Oh, Keith Day is a member here in Warsaw, and should be
contacting you with pictures on Facebook. He's pretty good about posting
pictures of the missionaries on his facebook, so he should be in touch.
I drove stick-shift for the second time in my life through
Warsaw this week... so that was cool. We didn't even die! Big shoutout to
Brother Jones for teaching me lol. That was a great experience.
MIRACLE. So Elder Fetzer and I stayed late after church
yesterday to do a bunch of DL stuff, and it ended up taking Forever. Like so
much longer than it needed to, and we had no idea why. When we were getting
ready to go, two middle-aged men walked into the chapel and were taking
pictures and such. We asked them if we could help them, and they said that they
were good. So we got our coats on, and then tried talking to them out front of
the chapel again, and just chatted for a second. We got halfway from the chapel
to the tram, and Elder Fetzer and I both got hit with the Spirit that told us
to go back. so we turned right around and went into the chapel, and they were
inside, again. We ended up taking them on an entire chapel tour, showing them
the Baptismal Font, and got their number(which is BIG for polish people). They
asked US for brochures about our church, and we invited them to church on
Sunday and they said that they want to come. We're going to be calling them
Saturday to remind them. So cool! We don't know if anything will come of it,
but the Lord is preparing people and they're just walking into our chapels all
over the place! It's a miracle!
Health Update:
I have been doing SO much better this week. After talking
with Dr.
Lueck this week, I feel a ton better.
Unfortunately the Spirit is more willing than the body and I went faster and
harder than I should have this week, so I'm a little sore, but I've since
slowed down and we're going to do what we can at the pace that we can. We'll
see how that goes!
